Blackhawks vs. Wild: Is the game cancelled tonight?

The city of Chicago is in the middle of a snowstorm. More than nine inches of snow has hit parts of Chicago

And the Chicago Blackhawks are slated to play the Minnesota Wild tonight with puck drop at 8:30 p.m. CT.

Has the Blackhawks' game been cancelled? No.

Will the game be cancelled? That remains to be seen.

"Wednesday morning's heavy snow is expected to taper heading into the afternoon hours, but don't be fooled because another round of snow is just hours away for many in the Chicago area," NBC Chicago reports.

"Winter storm warnings continue for several counties until 6 p.m. Wednesday."

And while those warnings end before game time, the accumulation of snow could present travel problems. It's also not the end of the snow.

"For some counties, particularly south and in northwest Indiana, however, the warnings will linger through Thursday as several additional inches of snow could still fall," says NBC Chicago.

More snow is expected Wednesday night when the game would be completed and fans would be leaving the United Center.

"Another round moves in Wednesday night and is expected to continue through Thursday, following a similar path to the first round," NBC Chicago reports.

"An additional 2 to 5 inches possible in some locations, particularly south and east of Chicago."
