José Abreu is your 2020 American League MVP, and the RBI machine deserved it.

It's also the first time the MVP award came to the south side in 26 years.

The living legend Frank Thomas, who won the AL MVP in 1993 and 1994 with the White Sox, congratulated Abreu on Twitter.

Dick Allen, who won the AL MVP in 1972 with the White Sox, also passed along his congratulations.

And his teammates wasted no time celebrating the award.

White Sox ace Lucas Giolito, who threw his first no-hitter during the 2020 season, congratulated Abreu.

So did another star pitcher, Dallas Keuchel.

Ozzie Guillen was ready to go crazy if Abreu didn't win.

And third baseman Jake Burger joined in.

White Sox play-by-play man Jason Benetti added his congrats.

And it's the latest in a slew of awards for the South Side.

Abreu won a Silver Slugger award in 2020, with teammates Tim Anderson and Eloy Jiménez also winning. That was Abreu's third Silver Slugger.

Abreu also lead the American League in RBIs two years in a row.
